“The cure for boredom is curiosity. There is no cure for curiosity.” (july 1)

The various stages of my houses:

So today I was in the house the whole day. I didn't quite make it to church but...I had my own spiritual time. I woke up around 6:30 a.m. and went outside to the park/oceanfront across the street from my apartment. I sat there reading and meditating on different passages in the Bible. After I finished my self-reflection period, I went for a 2-hr walk up and down the "boardwalk." It was a beautiful day out, hot but not too hot, and sunny which is a pleasure I relished because it rains SOO much down here. I came back to the apartment, a few shades darker, and ate some lunch with the roomie before taking a quick cat nap. Yolanda had to work today so I was alone in the house from like 130-9p. I cooked some WONDERFUL tilapia, green beans and rice for dinner and was SO proud of myself! It tasted great :-). I also finished reading my latest book. It's kinda funny because I've been reading like 1 book per day...but hey, when you have nothing else to do... So by the end of the evening I was kind of stir crazy so I started building houses out of cards. It was slow going because they kept falling down but I took pics at each stage to prove I actually did it. However, I left the camera cable at home today so I'll post those pics manana. But yes, my boredom was cured by the curiousity of a House of Cards.

CIAO!

The Saga…Chapter 46 (June 29-30)

So… the maintenance man came back to the apartment today and of course still didn’t fix the shower. He said there’s something else wrong with it that he cannot do and someone else will have to come out to fix it. All I know is that I am not leaving work early again to get this resolved because I’ve already done it twice so they’re going to have to come after regular work hours. The rest of the day was pretty uneventful. I went to Yolanda’s office around 5 p.m. because her department was having a happy hour complete with wine, beer, chips, veggies, etc. Apparently they do this every Friday with a different department hosting it. I’m going to make the suggestion to my coworkers at the Clayton Building that we start doing this because it definitely helps build the camaraderie amongst employees and relax after a long week of hard work. When we got home from the social hour it was around 7:15 and we were both tired so we took “naps” and I didn’t wake up until around 3 o’clock in the morning. It was actually funny because we both came out of our rooms at the same time saying we were wide-awake. I finished reading my book and then made myself go back to sleep.

Eventually I got out of bed at 9 a.m. to make breakfast: eggs, sausage, oatmeal and toast. This was the first time I’d tried Morning Star sausage but the food was decent. I’m a steadfast Boca products girl but Boca didn’t make the breakfast products I wanted so I bought the Morning Star version instead. Now I’m chillaxing to Carl Thomas, Eric Benet, and Dwele. Yolanda and I are going to try to finalize our wireless internet plan today at the mall then head over to a barbeque that some Embassy employees are hosting.

Más tarde...

So we tried going to the barbeque but when we arrived there was no one there. Therefore we wasted $10 on a taxi to take us across the city and come right back. Later that day I taught Yolanda how to play cards. We played Texas Hold 'Em, Speed, Old Maid and Go Fish. LOL, it was kinda funny....

The Latest Chapter in the Saga (june 28)

I had to leave work early again today to handle the issue with my shower. Of course, they weren’t able to fix it today. The gentlemen arrived, fiddled around in the bathroom for about an hour and then came out saying they have to come back tomorrow because they don’t have the part needed to fix it. Mind you, they don’t know what is wrong with the shower but he’s going to go home to study the design of the shower and figure out where the problem could be. Until then, the water in my bathroom is completely off, they left my floor dirty/wet/spotted, and the towels used to wipe up the water strewn about the bathroom floor. I promise – if it isn’t one thing, it’s another. Moving along with my day, Yolanda and I walked to the grocery store to pick up a few essentials. I actually had a very busy day at work and this was quite inconvenient to leave early only to have the problem left unsolved. Hopefully I can get everything done tomorrow before I have to leave again.
