Housing Granted!
So I finally heard back from my contact person in Panama and housing will be provided for me while down there. That was one of the major details that I was unsure of in terms of whether I would still be going on this internship. Now that I know that (and a few other details I was waiting on) I can proceed full force ahead. Once I know the address I will provide it in case anyone want to send me a care package ;-)

Introduction
First and foremost thanks go to God for giving me this opportunity because without him I would not even be in this position.
For those who do not know, I love to travel. In high school I went abroad for two weeks to Spain, France and Italy. Other countries I have visited are Mexico, the Bahamas, and other Caribbean locales. I also have a personal goal of visiting all 50 states by the age of 30. Currently I'm at 33 (i think) so I'm almost there. Anyways, I have always wanted to work abroad and this program with the US Department of State was something I was exposed to early in my collegiate career and when the time came for me to apply I jumped at it.
It has been a rough journey to get to this point of actually going to Panama, and is actually still not finalized, but God willing everything will work out in sufficient time to not cancel the trip.
I will be working in the Bureau of Consular Affairs located in Panama City. I will be working with the visas, immigration issues, fraud investigation of visas, etc. I expect this to be an eye opening experience on soo many levels so please pray for me. As yall know I've studied Spanish for quite some time and know it proficiently but not fluently. Therefore it is my goal to come back from this trip 100% fluent and able to communicate like a native. I also hope to travel some throughout the country and throughout Central America...see the Panama Canal, rainforests, etc.
I will post as frequently as possible. Pictures will be posted as well once I buy a digital camera...maybe a gift...maybe a Memorial Day splurge...we'll see...
Until next time,
Con Amor Siempre (name that movie lol),
